Description: The first of 36 shots taken with my first roll of film in over 10 years. It was taken with a 1970s Zenit -E. Old cameras such as this are completely manual, so not every photo comes out quite the way you would like it for at least the first three films, maybe even more if you switch the ISO sensitivity with each film. I think these photos will be interesting simply because they have a very retro/vintage feel to them and this is achieved miraculously without the use of Instagram’s raucous looking filters.
I actually took this one using the camera’s built in mechanical wind-up self timer. I wound it up, pressed the release button and ran quickly to pose as the handle screeched slowly round the semi-circle trajectory.
The film I used this time was Kodak Gold ISO 200 film and the lenses were a Helios 53mm and Helios 210mm, both of which I will continue to showcase this evening.
Finally a reminder and perhaps disclaimer that this is a daily photography blog. Please I urge you don’t be disappointed if not the most interesting photos are being posted every day, the idea is I must take at least one picture every day and post it on here the same day. Since I’m not a backpacker or a travelling journalist or whatever, the more interesting shots will be more rare than perhaps other blogs showcasing the photographer’s best works.
